Solo Gateway products currently provide a very simple web-based User Interface. When asked by a large Telecom Group for an even simpler UI, we took up the challenge! We are currently implementing a brand new UI that will improve user interaction in every way possible.
Up to now, we have tried to form our UI so that it resembles configuration pages of network equipment, something that most partners and users are familiar with. Now, we move ahead. Our target is to allow naive users with no specialized IT experience to be able and to be more willing to manage the services provided by Solo Gateway.
We decided to make this change in 2 phases, so that we can provide our current installation-base a smoother transition. In the first phase, we are revamping the UI to provide a wizard-based Interface to the User, instead of large menus and tabbed forms. This way, naive users are not baffled by the large number of options and are able to progress fast to configuring the services they require. In the second phase, we are restructuring the UI, to provide a need-driven interaction. Users just want to get things done based on their needs, and not based on the available services that the platform provides.
This change will affect all installations, thus a transition period will be required. That is why, we shall continue to provide and support the previous UI in order for our partners and customers to adjust.
Development of the new UI has already started and we can say, even at this early stage, that the overall change will be startling and everybody will love the new looks of Solo Gateway!
